Open Tryouts: Pete's Athletic Club at Pete's Satire Lounge
Regulars make Denver better. Pete's Satire Lounge, the Colfax bar since 1962, is launching Pete's Athletic Club, a new loyalty club for Denver's regulars. No athletes. Just regulars. The only sport is showing up.
Before it was the Satire, 1920 E. Colfax was a sports bar. Now it's getting its team back.
How it works: Order a Colfax Crown shooter (Crown Vanilla, pineapple and soda water) and you earn a gold star. Stick it in your row on the Roster, a poster-board gold-star chart hanging on the wall.
Along the way you'll rank up from Walk-On to Junior Varsity, Varsity and Team Captain. Hit 100 stars over time and you make the Homecoming Court: the bell rings, you're crowned and sashed. You then get to plan a party with a free keg and your name goes on a plaque in the Trophy Case.
On tryout night:
No cuts. RSVP and get your first Colfax Crown shot on us.
Charter members get the low numbers, starting at No. 001.
The charter pin is given out launch night only and will never be made again.
Honorary Captains: longtime regulars get honored on night one.
When: Thursday, October 22, 7:00–10:30 PM
Where: Pete's Satire Lounge, 1920 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO
Cost: Free to join. 21+ only.
